Looking for Lost Treasure | Bloganuary Day 4

I wasn’t expecting a question like this to feel so insurmountable. I think of treasure and I think of buried bones and pirates and adventures, generally lighthearted (in the sense of imaginary pirates, not real ones). The first answer that popped into my head wasn’t lighthearted. It deflated me. I got sad. I didn’t want to write.

I’ll write though, even without a ton I want to say. I think that most things that are lost can be found if we’re willing to look hard enough. Sometimes we need a tool: a metal detector, a mom, a pen. Other times, we need to rest. We’re so busy going back and forth and checking the fridge for the third time that we don’t see the keys in the tray next to the door where we’ve always left them. Sometimes, we need time. We need to figure out the clues, push pieces together, ask a friend (or a stranger) to turn the map upside down and help us see things more clearly.
